Osteoporosis & Yoga Workshop October 27th

Osteoporosis & Yoga Workshop October 27th

Yoga is good for your balance, bones, flexibility, brain and more. But some yoga postures and movements are associated with risks for those with osteoporosis. Osteoporosis happens when bones lose their quality and density, and this can increase their chances of breaking.

Attend this 4-hour workshop taught by SAM Sather, a certified yoga therapist and RN, to learn how to practice or teach yoga for those at risk for fractures from osteoporosis.

Could it be Menopause?

Could it be Menopause?

Not sure exactly how to know if you might be going through menopause? You may start to notice changes in your health and well-being as you enter your forties and fifties but these aren’t always recognized as being linked to menopause. Changing levels of estrogen, testosterone and other hormones can encourage a range of symptoms. Some of these are classic menopause symptoms but others can be more surprising. If you have any of these symptoms and you’re in the ballpark age for menopause, think about speaking to your doctor about having your hormone levels checked.

Grief is not just sadness or other emotions; it is an all-encompassing experience that profoundly affects us in body, mind and spirit.

Yoga and writing can be especially helpful during this difficult time because both fully engage body, mind, and spirit. Woven together as complementary practices, they quickly invite discovery and healing on a profound level.
