We have been watching the reliable news closely. We've listened to your concerns, we know that you want to continue coming to your yoga class, AND we understand that you are highly concerned about Covid-19.

We are now going online to bring you YOGA straight to your living room!!! At least until April 6th when schools mostly come back in session. so PLEASE READ the following completely.

This means that instead of coming to the studio, we will provide you with a direct link to join your class from home. Your teacher will be at the studio or their home AND you will be on a screen in front of your teacher!

Your health and safety are most important to us!

As concerns regarding COVID-19 grow, we are working to prevent exposure to the virus at Dogwood Studio.

We ask that you comply with the following:

  1. If you are not feeling well, do not come to the studio. Rest at home.

  2. If you have a family member or roommate that is not well, please do not come to the studio.

  3. If you have been exposed to COVID-19, do not come to the studio for at least 14 days after exposure. Report this to your healthcare provider.

Chronic pain occurs when pain is experienced for longer than 3 to 6 months and exists when there is no acute injury to heal from. It is relatively common, affecting about 20% of people. It is a frequent reason for doctors’ visits and missed days of work and socialization. There is more to pain than the unpleasant sensation in the body. It also affects muscle tension, breathing patterns, and mindset. Depression is linked to chronic pain, and up to 85% people with chronic pain experience depression. Chronic pain affects appetite, sleep, and relationships.

This 60 minute class combines chanting the Bija Mantra (Sounds of the Chakras) followed by a Chakra Meditation, ending with savasana.

The goals of this call is for you to become:

  • less attached to your thoughts,

  • less attached to who you think you are (decreasing comparing and competing),

  • more insightful into your problems and more compassionate toward the problems of others,

  • more patient.

Dogwood Studio Welcomes Leesann Shefa, BA, eRYT!

Introducing Dogwood Studio’s newest team member, Leesann Shefa! Leesann has been interested in the healing potential of the mind-body connection since she was very young. In her undergraduate studies at Sonoma State University, she obtained a dual major in Dance and Theatre, graduating with Honors. She also attended the acclaimed Naropa Institute, in Boulder, Colorado, where she studied Dance Therapy and Meditative Movement.

Our balance naturally changes as we age.  This is often associated with an increased risk of falling.  Balance training helps reduce the risk and fear of falling.  Improving balance is a complex multidimensional task.  Good news- one of the many benefits of practicing yoga is experiencing an improvement in balance!  Workshop participants will leave with an understanding of:
