Starting February 18th, join Leesann for a restorative and regenerative exploration of Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra. This is a wonderfully nourishing way to end the day and week. Contemplative Yin Yoga paired with the deeply restorative practice of Yoga Nidra.

What is Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is sometimes called yogic sleep. It deepens the connection between mind and body by using a conscious relaxation through guided meditation that can be as refreshing as sleep. This study shows a link between Yoga Nidra and reduced anxiety and negative stress.

As you relax and ease into sleeping, your brain waves change from completely awake, to relaxed, to soundly asleep. They fluctuate during the night and include states of dreaming. Many people who say they are not refreshed upon awakening are not entering a deeply asleep stage. This is frequently due to poor sleeping conditions, negative stress or anxiety, medications, or various other reasons. Unrefreshing sleep is linked to depressive symptoms as well as poor performance. Yoga Nidra slows the brainwaves and trains the mind for a deeper relaxation and better quality sleep. The relaxation balances the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Read our blog “Yoga Linked to Reduced Negative Stress” for additional information about these systems and how yoga helps reduce negative stress.

Join Leesann to learn how to practice Yoga Nidra and relax for a better, more refreshing sleep. Ease negative stress and negative thoughts away.
