One simple pleasure of meditation is it brings you closer to your experience. This allows you to learn more about what emotions lay dormant. You bring your subconscious experiences or samskaras into your consciousness. This leaves rooms for healing.

During our Heart of Hope Retreat at the NC Botanical Garden I found myself in the healing nature of meditation. While focusing on the meaning of Hope, I found the ability to be calm and safe despite experiencing pain. I found the ability to do something different and welcomed the healing experience.

A Poem of Hope came to me as I reflected on the Heart of Hope Retreat while listening to Ong Namo by Snatam Kaur.

I AM FEARLESS

I am fearless.

I don’t need to worry about failure.

I trust the wisdom that flows through me.

I don't need to have all the answers.

I accept what comes.

I am fearless.

Pain.

Burden.

Doubt.

I don’t need to hold onto suffering.

I am fearless.

I am courageous.

I am strong.

I am a fighter.

I am all that I am.

Perfectly imperfect.

I am free.

I am fearless.

Whatever will come will come.

I honor myself as I am.

I honor the eternal teacher.

I honor my wisdom.

I honor the divine within.

I am fearless.
