A Warm Welcome to Dogwood’s Summer Intern: Amanda

Amanda Toomey,  RYT

Please join us in our warm welcome to our summer intern: Amanda Toomey. We are thrilled to have Amanda in our community.  We look forward to learning and sharing with her.

Amanda is a registered yoga teacher, lifelong student, and lover of movement. As an aspiring Yoga Therapist, she is eager at the opportunity to intern with Dogwood Yoga.

Amanda first discovered yoga as a form of mind-body medicine that cultivated a deeper state of self-awareness and personal growth. As a dedicated practitioner, she received her RYT-200 certification from Wilmington Yoga Center in 2017. Through this program, her personal practice became an opportunity to be of service to others. She has since grounded her teaching in Therapeutic Yoga to encourage students to feel at home in their bodies in a safe and intentional way.

Amanda is experienced in vinyasa yoga, through which she inspires students to find the balance between effort and ease. She offers a gentler approach through restorative and yin yoga, prompting the art of slowing down and healing through stillness. In each of her offerings, Amanda shares an authentic experience to inspire whole-body healing and acceptance.

Amanda lives with her husband and labradoodle on the Eno River. She thrives in the warmer weather when she can spend time in the garden, hiking along the river, and drinking iced coffee on her front porch.
