TWO Opportunities to Practice In Person

1.    June - August Outdoor Yoga in the Garden at NC Botanical Garden with SAM Sather, Certified Yoga Therapist (C-IAYT)

Date: Tuesdays in June through August

Time: 9:30 AM – 10:45 AM

Fee: $13

Limited to 8 attendees: register soon

Where: Perennial Circle - Adjacent to Totten Center at the North Carolina Botanical Garden (website)

Register: Registration is through the NC Botanical Garden. Each class is listed for registration individually HERE. Sign up for as many as you want.

Join us for 75 minutes of rejuvenating outdoor yoga. The class will be held outside in the Perennial Circle. You will be immersed in the sounds and sights of nature as SAM leads you through a series of seated, standing and lying poses in the meadow with views of native trees and plants. The class is gentle and invigorating. Variations of poses will be offered to meet your needs.

 

What to bring:

  • We will practice 6 or more feet from each other.

  • You will need a yoga mat, beach towel, and/or blanket.

  • Feel free to bring a yoga block or prop that you like to use to support you; these are optional.

  • You may want sunscreen, a hat, or insect repellant as the class will take place in a sunny, natural area.

  • Bring a bottle of water as our water fountains are currently blocked off.

  • Bring a mask to wear when inside or when you are unable to maintain 6 feet between you and others outdoors.

UNC Community Standards

We are taking extensive precautions to make sure the Garden is a safe place to visit, and we need your help to keep it safe for everyone. When registering, you must agree to abide by the UNC Community Standards. Read the UNC Community Standards here.

In brief, please follow these practices:

  • Before leaving home for class, check for symptoms using the COVID-19 screening checklist here. Do not attend class if you are experiencing any symptom(s) indicated on the screening checklist. If you are not able to attend class for this reason, we will offer you a full refund as course credit or to your credit card.

  • Watch your distance and remain 6 feet apart from others.

  • Bring a mask with you. Wear a mask at all times indoors and when you are unable to maintain a 6' distance outdoors.

  • Wash your hands often.

  • Wipe off your work area before and after class with disinfecting wipes that will be available.

  • By doing these things, you are doing your part to keep others safe both on campus and in our local communities.


2.   In Person at The Parlour

June Limited In Person Event

Dates & Times:

  • June 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th. Wednesdays. 10:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

  • Sign-up for each class individually on the weekly class schedule.

You can sign-up for one or some or all dates.

Venue/Location: The historic and beautiful, The Parlour at Manns Chapel https://theparlourchapel.com/

Registration & Price:

  • $15 / session

  • Current memberships for On Demand and Online classes do not apply for In Person classes.

  • Registration is through Dogwood Studio's MindBody and not the venue.

  • Go to www.dogwoodstudioyoga.com and go to the pink SIGN-UP button. Go to the CLASSES tab and use the calendar function to find the date and then click on the “Sign-Up Now” button.

  • Class Size is Limited: 10 people spaced for physical distancing.

  • No walk-ins. Preregistration is required.

  • Participants must be fully vaccinated, including the 14 day wait-time after. Proof can be uploaded to Mindbody or sent to info@dogwoodstudioyoga.com.

You will need your own props. Here is what we suggest.

  • Yoga Mat, strap, blocks and/or favorite prop to sit on comfortably, blanket.

  • Gertie Ball if you have it, or a foam block or pillow can work

  • Water bottle with a lid. Optional eye pillow for savasana.

Other Important information for all In Person Classes:

  • We cannot accommodate late arrivals. No walk-ins. Pre-registration is required.

  • For these events, masks are required until you get to your mat and when you leave your mat to exit or use the bathroom. You can practice with the mask off. You are welcome to wear the mask during the class.

There are 43 parking spaces, so no need to worry about parking.

The venue is thoroughly cleaned before and after all events.
