Dogwood Studios’ Fall Service Week 2022 Benefits Healing Pines Respite

Join us October 31st - November 6th for our Fall Service week where we uphold the yogic practice of selfless service, or Seva. Seva, a sanskrit word that translates to “together with,” is the act of doing something for others without expectation or the need for recognition. Being of selfless service is a pillar across many spiritual practices, including yoga, 12-Step Recovery programs, Buddhism, etc. Being of service offers a deep sense of purpose, promotes community and connection, and cultivates happiness within. As Paramhansa Yogananda said, “as you forget self in service to others, you will find that, without seeking it, your own cup of happiness will be full.”

Fall Service week 2022 will benefit Healing Pines Respite in Chapel Hill, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides healing for women with cancer through rest, connection, and nature. Proceeds from our classes during the week of October 31st - November 6th will be donated to support women who are actively undergoing treatment and women who are up to three years post-treatment, and promote the healing of mind, body, and spirit.

Along with our weekly schedule, we will be hosting 4 special offering for Service week:

  • Heart-Centered Yoga & Meditation online with Amanda (Tues 11/2/2022 5:30-6:45pm)

  • Yin Yoga online and in person with Sam (Friday 11/4/2022 from 6:15-7:30pm) This will start the return of first Friday Yin Yoga!

This year, we hope to match our impact from last November’s Karma Class which provided over $2800 to Healing Pines Respite. What a joyful success! We are thrilled we can continue to build community and provide acts of service.

We appreciate our caring community! Healing Pines Respite says, “Thank You. Thank you so much for your continued support!”

We will kick off our Service Week with a retreat honoring YOU! Heart of Hope: Wisdom from the Garden takes place on October 29th at the North Carolina Botanical Gardens in Chapel Hill. We invite you to join us in a day of mindfulness, creativity, movement, art, and community as we explore what Hope means to each of us. Sign up HERE.
